Compensation and benefits packages include:
Annual salary (hiring range): $95,000 - $115,000 (subject to the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications and skills), plus annual Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) bonus.
Health Benefits Plan, including Extended Health, Dental & Vision coverage, Basic Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Benefits and Employee Assistance Programs. Premiums are paid by the company, with the exception of LTD premium.
Defined benefit pension plan, with the company’s contribution ranging from 6% to 8% to provide employees with a predictable lifetime retirement income, survivor benefits, early retirement options.
Hybrid work environment for those who live within 50km of our Head Office. Remote arrangements can be made for those living farther away, with some exceptions.

About the Role
Financial Reporting Manager is accountable to lead the team of financial professionals in providing accurate, timely and useful financial information to management through the preparation and analysis of financial, management and regulatory reports.
The incumbent co-ordinates with audits and ensures that all economic transactions impacting the financial position of the organization and funds are raised and reflected in reports as required.
The role also supports innovation and changes needed to improve effectiveness by sponsoring and implementing changes in achieving organizational goals and objectives. The position reports to Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities
Execution and management of financial and performance reporting activities
Ensure the timely and accurate generation of corporate results, including management, financial and regulatory reporting.
Prepares accurate reporting packages and commentaries, including but not limited to actual results and forecasts, variance analyses, assets under administration, net sales, for managers, the Executive Leadership Team (“ELT”) and the Board of Directors.
Designs and provides regular management reports which are used to measure key performance indicators and drive the success of the business.
Coordinates tax filings for funds.
Designs and provides cash flow analyses to maximize cash resources of Educators by minimizing overdrafts and bank charges.
Prepares and/or monitors general journal (“GL”) entries, conducts GL account analyses & reconciliations, prepares period-end accruals & account adjustments to ensure accurate period-end close and statement generation.
Oversees accounts payable and EFT/Wire payments, including receiving and processing miscellaneous cheque requests from authorized personnel.
Manages fixed assets, including leased equipment and related records, as relevant.
Manages year-end audits, providing external auditors with required supporting material, explanations, and process documentation.
Management and maintenance of an effective and efficient system of internal controls
Prepares and recommends accounting policies and procedures such as process improvement and automation.
Contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of standard accounting procedures and financial reporting processes and practices.
Ensures all formal policy and procedure manuals are kept current and proper communication to the user community are made on a timely basis.
Ensures the proper filing and retention of all financial records in accordance with Record Information Management policies and practices.
Management of the Company’s Accounting and Banking Applications
Ensures the integrity of the accounting system and information is maintained, including closing & opening periods, comparative data, accounting code structure and reporting continuity.
Liaises with Business Technology team and related vendors to ensure applications remain current, providing accurate and timely data and report production.
Designs new Financial Statement formats and updates Chart of Accounts.
Liaises with the partner Bank for system updates & enhancements, including user access control for the Bank’s Web Business Banking Application.
Trains users on applicable systems.
Team Management
Oversees team operations, including daily activities, cash settlements, reporting, and overall workflow efficiency.
Defines roles and performance expectations while facilitating effective communication and resolving staff concerns.
Coaches and develops staff through ongoing feedback, fostering engagement, career growth, and strong client service commitment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or equivalent.
Professional Accounting Designation: CPA.
5 to 7 years’ experience in Accounting and/or Corporate Finance.
High proficiency in Excel and experience with Sage and Power BI.
Prior Wealth Management and Trust Accounting experience would be an asset.
Managerial experience would be an asset.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal, people management and communication skills; collaborative with ability to communicate effectively and develop solid working relationships across multiple levels.
Well-organized, attentive to details and capable of good time-management.
